2021 Season Looks Very Promising

This year, starting May 15th, we are going to be open all season. We are very excited to get out on the water and feel the strong pull of King Salmon and Halibut on our lines. With Covid being in our rear-view mirror, we can start by celebrating improved fishing regulations. With 31 years of experience running our Alaska fishing lodge, this summer is looking brighter already at the Wild Strawberry Lodge.

Previously you may have read about more restrictive regulations for 2021. Recently, Alaska Department of Fish and Game has decided to increase the SE Alaska King Salmon regulations for nonresidents this summer. Now the King Salmon daily bag limit is one (1) per day, with a four (4) annual limit for nonresidents! These fish put up a serious rod-bending fight that leaves you smiling and exhausted. Besides, eating King Salmon is a real treat!

The current Guided Angler regulations for Halibut is one (1) per day with no annual limit. A keeper Halibut must be 50 inches and under, OR it can be 72 inches and over. A 50-inch Halibut is equal to 60 pounds and a 72-inch Halibut is equal to 196 lbs! This is a lot of great meals for the dinner table besides the awesome fun of reeling in an impressive fish!

We look forward to making some great fishing memories with everyone who has planned their trip to Sitka this summer. Our goal is for folks to feel like our lodge is their Alaska home away from home from the minute they walk in the door to the last minute before they board their flight back home. We will bend some rods, eat some fabulous meals, and make many more memories with everyone who comes fishing with Alaska

Premier Charters, Inc. at the Wild Strawberry Lodge.
