Whale Park

Whale Park was dedicated in July of 1995. It is a fabulous place to view humpback whales in the bay during March and April (whales feeding on herring) and fall months. For your enjoyment, Whale Park features a 900 foot boardwalk leading to five sheltered gazebos with picnic areas, and scopes for viewing wildlife across the water. It also has many informational signs to learn more about humpback whales and other wildlife. They also boast a hydrophone which allows you to listen to the calls of humpback whales.

The Park has life size sculptures of whales for playing on, climbing, and sliding for all ages. Other wildlife you may see during your visit include sea lions, shore birds, sea ducks, and bald eagles.

Watch For…
September thru December whales congregate in the bay area before traveling down to Hawaii for calving.
